I know it is kind of early but I thought people would like to know! On March 2,2012 The Lorax comes out from creators of Despicable Me {that should have one the Oscar for best animated film) Starring Zac Efron doing the voice of the main character Ted, Danny Devito doing the voice of the Lorax, Taylor Swift doing the voice Ted's love interest Audrey, Ed Helms doing the voice of the "jolly good"Once-ler, Betty white doing the voice of Norma, Rob Riggle being the voice of O'hare and Sherry Lynn doing the other voices like the Swany swans and the Bar-ba-loots, and the Humming Fish,etc. With this state of the art cast comes creative story telling and adaption of the Dr.Seuss book. You can really tell the creativeness in the story in the trailer and how they interrupt things like what happens to Ted before he sees the Once-ler and how the once-ler is not all green, how he is human and is just wearing green glove. I am amazingly impressed an SO excited for March the 2nd. Usually I would wait for DVD for this king of film, but I actually want to see it! Maybe it is because of my love for the book? Though agreat a mount of facts prove them wrong they do have quite interestingpoints.Forexample like if Shakespeare was real how come there is not one pieceof information like a letter home to Stratford saying so. There arealso many beliefs thatthe author ofShakespeare's plays was Edward de Vere, 17th Earl of Oxford. What is important is thatthe plays exist and they are among the best-written in the history ofthe English language. Whoever wrote them - Shakespeare, de Vere, orsomeone else - has been dead for 400 years. Thereis no way to prove it true or not true. Which makes the film a wholelot more fun. Anonymousprogresseson the ideathat theEarl of Oxford wrote Shakespeare's playsbut alsomakes allegations of Elizabeth I and the Earl of Oxford were intimateand had battles over their love whichmake for a more entertaining motion picture eventhough the Earl of Oxford is claimed to be gay.This also has the intended effect of transforming the movie'snarrative into a tragedy with Shakespearean overtones. However, when Johnson waffles, one of his actors,William Shakespeare (theobnoxious RafeSpall), steps into the breach. Meanwhile, as Elizabeth (VanessaRedgrave) approaches the end, various candidates for the next king ofEngland come to light. The favourite is James VI, the King ofScotland. He is favored by Elizabeth's closest advisers, WilliamCecil (David Thewlis) and his son, Robert (Edward Hogg). The othermain contender is one of Elizabeth's illegitimate sons, the Earl ofEssex (Sam Reid), a hothead who is supported by de Vere and severalother influential nobles. The scenery andsets are superb and most of the film was made on a sound stage and tolook like London at the time!.There-creations of The Globe and The Rose theatres are especiallywell-done. They provide a sense unlike that of any other movie ofwhat it was like to see a play in these settings. Anonymoustreats us to a highlight reel of Shakespeare's greatest hits, fromthe witches in MacBeth to the "To be or not to be" soliloquy in Hamlet.Despite being best known for his special effects-scifi-thrillerblockbusters like IndependenceDay,Godzilla,and2012Emmerich didan amazing job at directing this film even though it is not part ofhis stereotype.Anonymousis well writtenand very entertaining with few errors. The cast, whichis not full of the most known Hollywood stars, features Rhys Ifansin the lead role. Ifans, known for being in more comedic roles is theperfect fit for this emotionally deprived character. His emotions arevery deep and believable. Vanessa Redgrave plays the best performanceas Elizabeth since Cate Blanchett, and I regret saying this but shemight almost be better. She does a fantastic job at portraying thefading queen, who maintains an aura of quiet authority even as herphysical and mental capabilities decline. Redgrave's daughter, JoelyRichardson, plays a younger version of the queen during flashbacks.The only disappointment was Rafe Spall. Now the character ofShakespeare was not an issue for me, I just found Rafe's actinglacked in every way. Rafe is enjoyable in stupid funny movies likeHot Fuzz but his comedic role in this movie was horrible. Bloodyhell! It looked like he was often thinking about what his next lineshould come next! Also, when he tried being intimidating it made melaugh. A school girl could have done a better job. However, the restof the cast contains superb actors such as David Thewlis (HarryPotter series) and Edward Hogg. (Alfie). Anonymousis a very enjoyable movie, but it is not the most amazing movie I have everseen. The movie is definitely a must see for other like my self whoare Shakespeare lovers, and have an understanding of him and the era, but the film has been designed with a general audience in mind. Itis made for people to be spoon fed and entertained and notnecessarily make people think Like in Shakespeare in love.Despite the limited showings intheatres due to the turnout at the Toronto International Film Festival,Anonymous is good enough to be seen in a theatre – infact, the spectacular production design will lose something on thesmall screen. The film's idea - that de Vere not Shakespeare createdthe English language's most beloved plays - may be shaky whenexamined on a purely factual basis but those who believe the moviewill have no doubts. Also, it is a great movie for jolly good funreasons. Overall, I must give this film a solid 8/10.
